Foundation Funds & Funding |
The Rotary Foundation has 3 main funds and 2 sub-funds, which are as follows: |
| 1 |
Annual Programmes Fund (APF) and its 2 sub-funds: |
- District Designated Fund (DDF) |
| 3 |
Polio Fund (a dedicated fund) |
It is always the donor (the Individual, the Club or the District) who/which decides which fund is to be used. If the donor does not specify a fund, the contribution is paid into the Annual Programmes Fund, the default fund. It is our Annual Programmes Fund which is the main source of our District Designated Fund (DDF), our District Simplified Grant monies (DSG) and our Matching Grant funds MGs). |
Three years after monies are paid into the Annual Programmes Fund, 50% is 'credited' back to the District as District Designated Fund (DDF); the other 50% goes into the World Fund. |
Of the 50% credited to the District as DDF, we have the choice to take 20% as cash to use for District Simplified Grants. We always take that option, and hold the 20% cash in the District to help Clubs with their DSG projects. |
100% of the CAPITAL paid into APF is used each year to support Club/District projects. |
It is the INTEREST from the Permanent Fund, together with the capital from the World Fund, which together finance Matching Grants, 3-H Grants, Group Study Exchange and the Rotary Peace Centres. These are programmes that are available to every District in the world, regardless of its financial standing. |
This is a dedicated fund, such that all monies can only be used for polio eradication work. |
The attached documents sets out broad details of how the Annual, Permanent and Polio Fund are financed, Attachment: Who gives, and to which fund |
Please send all contributions for Foundation direct to Jean Sutor at RIBI, marked 'RF (UK) APF' or RF (UK) Polio', depending upon which fund you wish to support; please show your Club and District on the cheque. Every penny received by RIBI is attributed to an individual, to his/her Club and to the District. |
The 50% paid into the World Fund combines with interest fromthe Permanent Fund; the combined monies are used for: Matching Grants, GSE. |
